Step-by-Step Admission Process for MBBS in Bangladesh 2026
The Path to Your Medical Degree
Securing admission in Bangladesh is a highly structured process regulated by the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), Bangladesh. There are strict deadlines and specific document requirements. Here is the exact step-by-step process handled by NilEducation:
Step 1: Eligibility Check and GPA Calculation
Unlike Russia, Bangladesh has a strict GPA requirement. You must have a minimum combined GPA of 7.0 in your 10th and 12th standards (with Biology specifically having a high GPA). Furthermore, you cannot have more than a 2-year study gap after passing 12th. We first calculate your exact GPA to determine which colleges you qualify for.
Step 2: Document Attestation
Your 10th and 12th mark sheets and certificates must be attested by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India, and subsequently by the Bangladesh High Commission in India. This is a crucial and time-consuming step.
Step 3: Application to DGME and University
Once your documents are attested and your NEET scorecard is ready, we submit your official application online through the DGME portal and directly to your chosen university (e.g., Enam Medical College). You must pay the DGME application fee (approx. $100).
Step 4: Equivalence Certificate and Admission Letter
The DGME will verify your documents and issue an 'Equivalence Certificate'. Upon receiving this, the medical college will issue your official Offer/Admission Letter.
Step 5: Seat Booking and Visa
To confirm your seat, you must transfer the initial booking amount (usually $2,000 to $5,000) directly to the college's bank account. Once confirmed, we apply for your Student Visa at the Bangladesh High Commission. After the visa is stamped, you are ready to fly!
