The Final NMC Hurdle: Foreign Registration

The National Medical Commission (NMC) 2021 Gazette includes a highly debated clause: "The foreign medical graduate must be registered with the respective professional regulatory body or otherwise competent to grant a license to practice medicine in the jurisdiction of the country in which the medical degree is awarded."

Simply put: If you cannot legally practice as a doctor in the country you studied in, you cannot practice in India.
