Once you have secured your admission and paid your tuition fees, the final hurdle is obtaining a student visa. For studying a full-time degree program like MBBS in Georgia, Indian students must apply for a Type D3 Study Visa.

Where to Apply

You cannot travel on a tourist visa and convert it to a student visa later. You must apply for the D3 visa from India before departure. The application is submitted via VFS Global centers located in major Indian cities (New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc.) or directly at the Embassy of Georgia in New Delhi.

Required Documents for Visa

The Georgian Embassy is very strict regarding documentation. You will need:

• Original Passport (minimum 2 years validity).
• Printed and signed Visa Application Form.
• Unconditional Offer/Admission Letter from the Georgian University.
• Proof of NCEQE Approval.
• Tuition Fee Payment Receipt (Swift Copy).
• Travel Medical Insurance covering the travel period.
• Confirmed Flight Ticket reservations.
• Bank Statements (last 6 months) proving financial stability.
• Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) issued by the regional passport office.

The Interview Process

In some cases, the consular officer may summon the student for a short interview at the embassy. They typically ask basic questions like:

• Why did you choose Georgia for MBBS?
• Why this specific university?
• Who is funding your education?

Processing Time

The standard processing time for a Georgian D3 Visa is 15 to 30 working days. Therefore, it is critical to start the visa process by late August to ensure you arrive in Georgia before classes commence in late September.

TRC (Temporary Residence Card)

The D3 visa usually allows a single entry and is valid for 90 days. Upon arriving in Georgia, Nile Education's local representatives will help you apply for a Temporary Residence Card (TRC). The TRC acts as a multi-entry visa, allowing you to stay in Georgia and travel back to India during vacations for the duration of your course.
