The Most Accessible Medical Destination

One of the greatest advantages of choosing MBBS in Nepal is the incredible ease of travel. You do not need a passport, a visa, or expensive international flights to reach your college.

Traveling by Air

The fastest route is to fly directly into Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Direct flights are available from Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. The flight from Delhi takes barely 1.5 hours and usually costs between ₹6,000 to ₹10,000.

Traveling by Train and Road (Budget Route)

For students studying in colleges near the border (like Nepalgunj, Janakpur, or Birgunj), the train route is highly preferred.
Route 1 (UP/Bihar Border): Take a train to Gorakhpur (UP) or Raxaul (Bihar). From there, you can cross the border via auto-rickshaw and take a local Nepal bus or taxi to your college.
Route 2 (West Bengal Border): Take a train to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) or Siliguri, cross the Panitanki-Kakarbhitta border, and travel onwards.

Currency and Border Crossing

Ensure you carry your valid Indian Voter ID or Passport for identity verification at the border or airport. Indian currency (notes of ₹100 and ₹500) is widely accepted across Nepal, though carrying a loaded forex card or international debit card is recommended for larger transactions.
